PUSD: School Construction Essential and Will Continue
The Piedmont Unified School District has determined that the work on the new STEAM building at Piedmont High School is an essential government function and work will continue on this project, over which the City has no jurisdiction.

Why has construction been declared by the District “essential” when the county shelter in place provides that Essential Government Functions include “all first responders, emergency management personnel, emergency dispatchers, court personnel, and law enforcement personnel, and others who need to perform essential services”? Construction at a closed public school seems to conflict with the spirit of the order.
