ALERT: Piedmont Uses Email Notification System Again

Urgent Public Safety Dispatch from the Police Department –

The City of Piedmont has just recorded its third robbery for this month [October].  This morning a victim talking on a cell phone was robbed of her purse at gunpoint.  The robbery took place on Oakland Avenue at Sunnyside Avenue, the same location where an earlier robbery took place, when that victim was asked for directions.

We have leads in this case and are currently working with Oakland PD.

Be aware of your surroundings and walk without distractions (i.e., talking on a phone, using an ipad, walking with your head down, etc).  If you can, walk with another person and look around to see who and what is around you.  Though it may be rude, don’t be distracted by a potential suspect by providing directions or offering other help.

If you become a victim – GIVE UP YOUR PROPERTY WITHOUT HESITATION.
