FallFest 5K Announced – Volunteers Needed
FallFest Run/Walk – Saturday, Sept. 29 at 8:30 a.m.-
The Piedmont Unified School District Wellness Center and the Piedmont Educational Foundation have announced the Second Annual FallFest 5K Run/Walk. Volunteers are needed to help as race course monitors, at water stations, and at registration.
The event is designed to raise awareness of the Wellness Center and the funds needed to support its mission. Proceeds help sustain the school district’s vibrant Wellness Center that serves 6th-12th graders, providing counseling services, health education, and student leadership opportunities. Students at Piedmont Middle School, Millennium High School and Piedmont High School rely on the services and program offered through the Wellness Center to help them meet the demands of a rigorous, high-quality education.
FallFest 5K is a certified 5K course through the tree lined streets of Piedmont. The course contains a few challenging uphills along with some nice, long flats and the relief of a couple of beautiful downhill areas. Anyone is welcome to come out and participate by either running or walking, volunteering or cheering on the runners.
New for 2012 are team categories. Prizes will be awarded to teams with the most creative costumes (requires 4 or more team members), teams with the most members and parent/child teams(2 person teams). Team registrations can’t be accommodated on race day walk up registration, so sign up in advance!
