Green Changes to City Building Code to be Considered

The Planning Commission will hold a hearing to discuss potential changes to the City’s Municipal Code and Residential Design Guidelines at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, in  City Hall Council Chambers. 

This hearing will be the first of several hearings to consider changes to the Code to implement General Plan, Housing Element, and  Climate Action Plan objectives, and recommendations from the Environmental Task Force.   Subjects to be considered include hot water heaters, impermeabl surfaces, artificial turf,  grey water systems and the color of roofs.

The hearing is to solicit public input for the Commission’s deliberation process.  It will be broadcast on KCOM, cable 27 and will viewable on the City’s website at www.ci.piedmont.ca.us:  go to the right hand side of the homepage under the “City Council” heading, click on the “Online Video” link, then scroll down under the “Sections on this Page” heading, click on the “Planning Commission” link, then on the “March 12 meeting”, click on the “Video” link, and scroll down to Agenda #7, and start watching!
