PRFO attorney contracted to advise the City on Blair Park project – City waives any conflicts of interest
A second private deal (see below) has surfaced that was signed out of public view between the City Council and attorneys for Piedmont Recreational Facilities Organization (PRFO), the sports group proposing to develop Blair Park into a $6.5 million, multi-use sports facility. Recreation Commission Dips into City Pool Operation
On Wednesday, September 21, the Recreation Commission received a report on the City takeover of the community pool operations. Recreation Director Mark Delventhal reported, “I’m very pleased with our pool team. It’s been a real challenge. We had our hiccups, but I’m proud of how it’s gone.”

Many Questions About Why No Public Discussion or Council Vote
A Reimbursement and Indemnification Agreement was entered into between the City of Piedmont and the Piedmont Recreation Facilities Organization, PRFO, on August 12, 2011. The agreement was executed by Geoffrey Grote, “City Manager” (sic) and Thomas Curry, City Attorney for the “Municipal Corporation Piedmont” on behalf of the City and Jessica Berg, President, on behalf of PRFO. The Agreement with PRFO was recently posted on the City’s website with no reference to discussion, hearing, or approval by the City Council.

Piedmont’s Audit Subcommittee has released a new draft of its preliminary report. The new version incorporates changes discussed by committee members at its last Subcommittee meeting on August 23. The City Council Audit Subcommittee will meet on Thursday, September 22nd at 7:30 p.m. to review and approve a preliminary report to the City Council.
The draft Preliminary Report and all the materials used by the subcommittee are available on-line. The committee may not issue a final report until after litigation involving the District has been concluded and matters in the litigation can be explored more fully.
